Sorry, Chip, but as others have correctly pointed out a “wingectomy” is a removal of the offending wing. The actual term to repair a wing would be a cornuplasty and apologies if my Latin conjugation isn’t up to snuff.

I’ve seen butterflies fly with only the top 1/6th of their upper wing on one side. And they could still fly straight. They are marvels of design. SAVE THE BUTTERFLIES!
