On a recent tour of Prince Edward Island, I was actually taken to a place like this. Not a single thing was locally made, and all of it could have been bought in our respective hometowns.
I hate shopping, just to look around. I remember going with my mom and sister and I would be bored out of my mind! They looked and touched everything….Oy!
I finally told them don’t call me’ I’ll call you! LOL!
There was a place in Stamford CT called United House Wrecking. It was full of items salvaged from buildings that had been torn down. It was fascinating to roam through the store and yard. You never knew what you would find. Dad bought a pair of carriage lamps that had been electrified and put them on our garage. They are still there and still work.
Chill, Alice. You’ll see, soon enough, and probably you’ll like it, too!
Petey, on the other hand, knows what is in store, and has consciously chosen to sulk in the car if allowed to do so. I’d prefer to stay back with Petey in general, but could tolerate lawn ornaments (even lawn gnomes!) and pottery, if it was at least a little bitty bit artsy. So, what exactly does Big Tom have to offer on his twelve acres (!) of values?

Did anyone else’s parents ever do the “just a minute” stop at the Williamsburg Pottery Factory? I still have nightmares…

Petey would have liked Mr. Moore’s salvage yard I did. When I was a kid he had pottery, that is a yard full of toilets, bathroom sinks and tubs.

Many people live by the credo: you can never have too many yard ornaments.
