….how these two yutzes even got an appointment is beyond me. Who’s trusting their marketing to guys who dress like they’re running coke from Bolivia on the weekends?
If the winning team got half of the losing team’s weekly pay, you’d see some passion. And don’t get me started on top tier boxing—when both fighters are guaranteed huge bucks, why should they put more than middling effort into the bout? Make it 90% of the total to the winner and watch the action.
It’s all about the TV revenue. Since the admission of Seattle and Tampa Bay to the league, the teams have made enough money from tv that they do not have to sell one ticket, one hot dog or soda or rent one parking space and they will still realize an obscene profit.
NBA, NHL and MLB would all be better if they shortened their seasons. It’s ridiculous to have the World Series in November. It’s ridiculous to have the Stanley Cup playoffs in JUNE! There is little reason to care about any particular game in those 3 leagues.

Would be funnier if the guy without the jacket was loosing his “piece” as he flew out the window.

Everything in sports comes down to revenue. If team owners could figure out a way to play all year, they’d do it in a heartbeat.

Games do not matter any longer, only fantasy leagues and Draft Kings.

They have a point though, too many games and “load management”
