Got to shake Bobby’s hand when he came to Columbus, IN, in the spring of ‘68. In the wake of his brother’s assassination, I felt that maybe we were being given another chance. And then . . .
I was listening to Casey Kasem’s countdown from 1971 this morning and there was a song I had never heard before. A man named Tom Clay had a “song” that was a mash-up of “What the World Needs Now” and “Abraham, Martin and John”. It had news clips of John and Martin’s assassinations that I had heard before. Bobby’s however was new to me. It also had Teddy’s eulogy for Bobby, and Ted was crying during it. All told it was a very moving piece of musical history and I am amazed that in my 50+ years I have never encountered it before.

Junior fell quite a ways away from the tree. And “fall” is EXACTLY the correct verb.
