They’re not. I’d love for a political red and blue debate to be this civilised. I’m sure that’s what Steenz’ hit-’em-on-the-head metaphor is all about.
Nothing causes problems like rooting for different teams. Especially when those teams are playing each other. My cousin and her wife are fans of two different CFL teams. Not usually a problem until the teams are playing agains each other. They have come to a partial solution when the teams play each other by having whoever is rooting for the visiting team going to the home of local friends who are also fans of the visiting team. So far it has worked out for the last 15 years or so. One of my aunts graduated UCLA and her husband, my uncle, was an alum of USC. During the games the teams played each other, both football and basketball, they would listen to each team’s radio station. Made for some interesting times.

If it squawks like a fight and leaves skid marks like a fight then it is a fight.

Doesn’t look quite like a packed house after all, though.

A little trash talking is OK. But don’t get carried away. And be sure to shake hands after it’s all over.

Maybe for now. Let’s wait for the first penalty.
