Get some more of that “Dutch” courage first.

Recalling Charlie Brown eating his lunch and saying something like, “I think I’ll go over and talk to that little red-headed girl. I think I’ll go right over there and sit down beside her … I think I’ll flap my arms and fly to the moon.”

Frank doesn’t even have liquid courage. ☹️

I think today’s strip is an excellent example of how the dailies benefit from black & white. The contrast is striking visually. At the same time we are presented with the contrasting view of Frank’s thoughts versus Frank’s actions. Genius.

Frank will have to be content to look and admire like us readers.

Emotionally, Frank never got out of the 7th grade. Aside from that, it’s never a good idea to fish in the company pond.

…..yessiree, I’ll definitely DO IT!…..AFTER I finish this drink…and another….and another….and………

Of all the characters on the comics pages throughout my life, I relate to Frank the most. In fact, when I met Frank Cho at a convention years ago, he signed my book, “For Jason a.k.a. Frank!” And this strip is probably the truest representation why.
