Somewhere I read that fall for autumn mostly died out in Britain in the 1700s but survived as an Americanism. (When I watch a Brit mystery I keep an ear out for how often some Brit says “OK”.)

Autumn, it is.

I’m with Rory because everywhere you look leaves are falling.

Fall is an action, Autumn is a season.
