I know it was Crunchy-sarcasm, but first class moon flights are still 20 years away at best. We still have to prove we can go there and back on a regular basis without killing anyone. It will always be an extremely dangerous flight due to the environment outside the ship and the days it would take to get back home if anything does go wrong.

And you WILL need to be as rich as Dana to buy a ticket I bet.

The Waldorf-Astoria was once the home of the New Year’s Eve TV celebration on CBS when Guy Lombardo was alive. They only cut to Times Square intermittently, and in the last minute of the old year.

seeing Crunchy’s comment reminded me of the song by Frank Sinatra:

    Fly me to the moon

Let me play among the stars

Let me see what spring is like

    On a-Jupiter and Mars

    “One of these days, Alice…”

Funny how people laughed at that implied domestic violence.

I think it’s closed for renovation, maybe she has a condo there.

I thought Riker’s Island was the Walled-Off Astoria.

The only reason I’m aware of what the Waldorf-Astoria hotel is is because I’ve heard it referred to in like a thousand Jam Handy commercial short films.
