Because what makes you more brave than listening to a neigh sayer?

I often find my mind going down the same path it usually does. I think I’m trying to check if it’s still a good path to go down.

Do like like being alone with my thoughts?

Depends on what I am thinking about.

That is quite the compliment from Marigold – the biggest I think she’s ever given Phoebe.

Marigold is astoundingly self-aware for a narcissist.

Self praise stinks is something I have heard, what others think of you is more important!

It occurred to me that perhaps moments like these between Marigold and Phoebe are alluding to drug use.

Because of how painful it is for Phoebe to be alone with her thoughts and because Marigold is what seems to keep Phoebe together and helps her through anything.

There was even a strip that told about 4 stages of unicorn withdrawal which was funny but don’t you wonder if it hints at something truly destructive.

Unicorns themselves have been used as a slang term for certain types of drugs and perhaps because they make you feel perfect and superior even if only for a short time.

But consider the best thing is that since Phoebe has a real unicorn as a friend, she’s far less likely to get hooked on substances in her teen and adult years than other girls who don’t have a unicorn for a close friend.

then again that might not make a difference since she is so used to Marigold.

Even Marigold can get sick of her ego.

Would I want to hear that all day? Nay, nay, nay.
