She’s right – before she knows it, she’ll owe them 14 million.

Then you both would end up owing 14 million.

She wants almost as much as the government takes.

Don’t worry: they’ll come slithering up to your door-along with a slew of relatives and friends you were unaware of.

Alex should get 1/2 if she buys the ticket. Betty doesn’t want one so Alex should either get only one or keep the other one. Then she can rub her winnings in Bettys’ face, like with other things.

Half the 14 million after taxes.

Michigan doesn’t allow winners of multistate games to remain anonymous not even by forming a trust. You can, however, form a lottery club with only your lawyer and you as members and cash it in his/her name. You don’t have to give each member an equal share so you make out paperwork paying him/her just the legal fee.
