    My friend from NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) likes to point out that no one’s pain is worse than anyone else’s. Because pain is pain.

    My daughter with significant disabilities can mostly walk, talk, and see. Her needs are far less than those of a child whose condition is terminal or who cannot do any self care. But she still has needs, and it’s OK if I feel overwhelmed by that sometimes. Just because someone else has it worse, does not mean I have no struggles at all.
