A friend stopped by this weekend; she put a mask on when she came into the house. She said she was closing a real estate transaction this week, and couldn’t afford to get sick, but didn’t insist that I put one on, too..
Haven’t seen it that bad, but I do see people still wearing masks, sometimes outdoors! I think in some cases, though, they’ve just discovered it helps with allergies or something.
Today in History (according to my local newspaper) in 2009 President Obama declared the swine flu outbreak a national emergency and in 2014, an ER physician who had recently been in Africa treating Ebola tested positive. Pre-1930s the board of health placed my mother, aunt, and grandmother in home quarantine for scarlet fever. Life is not without risk from infectious diseases which have always been around. Masking is a personal choice that reflects the degree of risk you wish to assume and people who are risk averse and favor caution should not be shamed or judged.

Covid seems to be cranking up again, but they just took down the plexiglass germ wall around the pharmacy counter. I’m getting mixed messages here.

dozens of studies show masks are next to useless, but none show effective, strange huh?

Want to avoid the flu this winter? Wear a mask when you go out shopping and use hand sanitizer, and get the flu shot.

Remember a few years ago walking into my bank with a mask on and feeling just a little more than a comfortable!

“I obviously don’t know either but I’m afraid to find out.”

During cold and flu season I wear a mask on the bus. You never know when someone’s going to sit next to you and cough all over you.

Don’t speak too soon! I read an article (not in its entirety), that Covid is back but I don’t think it’s as potent as it was.

Sometimes, when I go to a particular library branch, I want to wear a Hazmat suit. I SWEAR everybody there has TB or something !

As an MD I have worn those at work everyday. And changed them for every patient when I had my practice.
