Now it is the nose rings, plugs, tattoos and purple hair that the nurses have that gets my BP up. Looks like street free-clinics sponsored med school….
White coat syndrome is a condition in which a person’s blood pressure rises above the normal range in a medical setting, but not in other settings. It is also known as white coat hypertension or the white coat effect. It is believed that the phenomenon is due to anxiety or stress caused by being around doctors or medical professionals. Most people with white coat syndrome do not need treatment if their blood pressure is normal at home.
It is a real thing but I attribute it more to fighting traffic, waiting in a strange place, and being asked to fill out forms with identical information to that given previously.
@ZYKOIC, I take umbrage with your assertion regarding nurses, nose rings tattoos and any other ornaments they’re still deserving of respect, Hint; don’t get sick tomorrow, some nurses read these comic strips too ! (And I know many good nurses male and female, and they’re all there when you need them)
