Did she? The only proper way to pitch like an anime character is to first have several flashback episodes that show you used to be more optimistic about baseball, until you found out the team you were on was talking smack about you behind your back out of jealousy, eventually framing you for something you didn’t do to kick you out. Then you give up baseball entirely, becoming a yankee until one day, your senpai who is on the team at your new school sticks up for you in a situation where no one else would. You then cry your eyes out as he asks you to join the team, and before throwing the first pitch after X years, you have an inner monologue about never giving up again.
Something strange about this strip…wait…don’t tell me…
I’ve got it! Steenz is actually showing people taking part in an event that has been hyped for the past week or two! None of this “let’s hype the event, then show things happening in the background while it’s going in before it cuts right to the ending” nonsense this time.

Again and again I hear about anime I’ve never heard of and the titles alone make me raise eyebrows.

Maybe Steenz is making up the titles, like Cadet Luna for Sailor Moon.
