Poor Charlie Brown! He’s trying to do a good thing. I’m glad I didn’t get this treatment when I asked neighbors for odd jobs. I remember one snow day from school when my brother and I went around shoveling the neighbors’ walks and we made quite a pile of money. It was so much fun to spend it at the department store that Saturday.

I remember when I was a Girl Scout, back in the days when our parents didn’t sell our cookies for us. I went door-to-door and believe it or not, had some people slam doors in my face! How do you do that to a 10 year old wearing a scout uniform?

CB will never be a door to door salesman when he grows up.

It is irritating getting unsolicited offers to take money off your hands, but at least he’s being honest about it. My grandparents were once approached by a scammer so shameless that he went up on their roof and started chucking bricks down the chimney in a (failed) attempt to convince them that they desperately needed it repaired.

I never sold anything sold to door but I did have a paper route (Dayton Daily News) in the 70’s and had to collect door to door. Never had a door slammed in my face since paying for the papers received was part of the agreement.

Charlie Brown isn’t a door to door salesman, or else if he came to the Bumstead house, Dagwood would do the same thing Lucy did.
