Gunther provides an essential service. He removes a lot of garbage, thus reducing the cost. And he ‘compacts’ it and adds a lot of ‘fertilizer’ to the wild flowers and trees.

If the ranger thinks Gunther is bad, he should transfer to Jellystone and ee how he gets along with Yogi and Boo-Boo.

Why? The bears were there first. Get rid of the humans. All the rain and subsequent flooding at several USAian National Parks this last year did damage to the infrastructure such that they had to close or severely limit where humans could go. Those places saw nature make a return such that the NPS is seriously considering closing certain areas of certain parks to allow nature to rebound from all the humanity tromping about.

Mr. Park Ranger has no taste! (Luckily for him.)

Gunther Grizzwell is a handsome, well-fed grizzly, a real icon for the park!
