I remember once, decades ago, my aunt came home from college and was proud of her new calculator (yes, those were a big deal in the 70s). My grandmother couldn’t understand the excitement and didn’t see the use. They decided on a speed/accuracy challenge: grandpa started tossing out numbers with basic arithmetic functions (ie 557 + 29 / 2 – 60 * 11). Aunt couldn’t keep up and her mother aced it!

I ALWAYS write checks.Too many snoops on the internet who don’t mind their own business.

We have exactly two places that we have to write checks for anymore. Everything else is either debit or credit card.

I just balanced my checkbook, two months. Found a missing POS debit, transferred some $ from savings. That was close.

What’s a checkbook???

I don’t even bother balancing it anymore.
