After watching my Phillies lose, I had little interest in the World Series. I think I saw about a half hour over the course of the five games.

Baseball has no one to blame but themselves. I was a long time fan who was finally turned off by the constant bickerings over money. The NFL and NBA have avoided that pitfall and their popularity has eclipsed major league baseball.

Happens every time certain teams (Yankees, Dodgers, Cheaters, etc.) don’t make the finals. As a result, a lot of short sighted fans miss some excellent baseball. This year was further hurt by there being no need for games on the second weekend.

A precursor to the 2024 presidential election apathy unless we get better candidates to vote for.

As a San Francisco Giants fan I was interested in how the Rangers did as the Giants former manager is the present manager of the Rangers. But only insofar as searching out the scores of the games online. Bruce Bochy is now like Sparky Anderson in that he has won the World Series managing a team in both leagues. Otherwise, meh.

Texas and Arizona did ok in the ratings given that the size of their markets and their national popularity as teams, not to mention the meh ratings for MLB as of late. It’s certainly not an indictment on the teams. Every WS isn’t going to be Red Sox (my team) or Yanks vs. Dodgers, Mets or Giants. It’s not good for baseball if medium and smaller market teams never win.

Ratings would have been better had Philly beat AZ and gone to the WS. But that TX team is really good and I would expect they would have beaten Philly, too.

I would much rather watch kids have a pickup game with no adults to spoil it! I have no desire to watch millionaires do anything; most are as egotistical and stupid as members of congress

Slightly less boring than watching golf . . .

Baseball was dubbed the National Pastime because it was a good way to spend a few leisurely hours mainly watching the pitcher delivering foul balls and strikes with an occasional hit. And that’s the problem, it can be mind-numbingly boring. Football is the opposite. On every snap of the ball, something will happen, and those somethings can be very exciting. And since there are far fewer games each season than baseball, each football game really matters.

For whatever reason, baseball remains a pastime while, for most of its rabid fans, football is a religion.

I don’t care for professional sports. However, I’m very proud of our Diamondbacks even though the failed to win the World Series.

If football games were videoed then edited before being shown on TV we could all have an extra 2 1/2 hours to do stuff in.

It has always been about the $$$ money $$$, now the college players can start even younger making $$$ money $$$. I watch a little baseball, some college sports but no Pro basketball or football.

it’s no wonder the ratings were bad for what was only a faux world series, involving a couple teams who shouldn’t even have been there…
