    Time to show my age!

When I was a kid… we had three regular channels (when the weather was good!) and one vhs station. Changing channels was the children’s job. Usually the youngest. But my brother was better at tuning them in!

Now… it is all digital. And few know there is other frequencies to work with.

I like the side comment “I’m not young enough to know everything”. When you’re young, you first think that your parents know everything and then that you know everything.

There weren’t very many channels, and it was called “getting up off your fat behind and turning the knob.”

In my youth we had one strong station, one part time station that were US and we had two stations out of Canada, one CBC and the other was CTV. When the first uhs stations came to VT in the mid 60s we got two more, all without remote control.

Former churchmate Esther had a pet turtle named Descarte, whom she left in her kid sister’s care when she went off to college. Said sister took an interest in riding, to the point of neglecting the turtle. The boyfriend Esther brought home (known to me as her husband Steve) endeared himself to his future father-in-law by commenting, “I guess she put the horse before Descarte.”

I remember 4 channels, no 24 -7 programming and no remotes. And only 21 inch screens. The shortest side on our smallest screen is now more than 21 inches
