That was the strangest story I ever heard, Charlie Brown.

Yeah, sounds like a complicated, advanced musical offering.

All the harmonies, the different tempos, the crescendo, my God, the crescendo, not to mention the counterpoints and antiphonys.

You can’t appreciate the whole thing in just one listening.

What do you think this is, the Beach Boys? Not likely!

Reminds me of a college friend who was into 12-tone music. He made me listen to Wozeck a couple of times, and explained about it. The second time wasn’t as dire as the first, I guess I just got used to it. I will never like 12-tone music though.

Turns out The Sugar Plum Tree is a poem by Eugene Field. Of course as a child of the 60s “I’ll rock you away” had a different meaning than in his day.

I hadn’t heard that before, so I searched for it on YouTube. I don’t think it requires more than one hearing.

I really dislike repeated listens of any song. Even if it’s one of my favorites.

Leroy Anderson’s The Waltzing Cat album. Still haven’t heard the last song on the first side. Fell asleep, every night, before getting to it. BTW, mom played the LP when I was visiting and my brudder and I were horsing around in the living room after dinner (I was in my 20s), we both fell asleep before the last song on the first side.
