It’s okay. I don’t think Cathy is giving accurate answers in the first two panels, so I doubt she’s telling the truth in the third. Regardless, if she only goes to the office, I’m sure she can meet someone there. And then there’s always Irving. :-|

It used to be easier to be out and about where one could meet people. It’s too expensive these days. Even plain coffee can be more than $3 in our tourist town. Free places to sit are hard to find and may be occupied by homeless people.
Confident??? I think lightenup is right – Cathy’s answers in the first two panels are definitely suspect.
I think one of the best ways to meet people is to get involved in community events – especially as a volunteer. I meet a lot of people at the theatre. Of course they are way younger than I am but then I am old and not available anyway. Still you do meet a lot of interesting people there. My assistant met a woman while they were helping out in the theatre. Unfortunately they now spend a lot of time together outside the theatre and did not finish a few projects they were working on for the last production.
