Oh, yes. I got my new refrigerator right before Thanksgiving. I took down all the fridgie magnets and put them in a box, hoping I could resist putting them back up, loving the look of my new bright white refrigerator, all clean and shiny.
Then I went to two museum exhibits, and, yes, I bought magnets — too many years of buying magnets at all museum exhibits and all major places I go — so do I put all the old ones up or just start with the new? It’s obvious I can’t stay fridgie-free.
The original idea was items of immediate interest against a blank field. What happens is it becomes a Sargasso Sea of undone tasks and long-expired shopping lists. The worst are the hurriedly scribbled phone numbers with one illegible number and no annotation.
Good but not solution, but not one I like, is to buy a stainless ‘steel’ fridge. The door of these fridges do not contain enough iron for a magnet to stick. Fortunately for us, the sides do have enough so we have one side we can use (and it is pretty full too).
A fine Sunday today. It stopped snowing earlier this afternoon but is still blowing a little. Total of 20cm of the 25 predicted and all dry flakes – no ice or wet snow.
Enjoy the day today – but if you are shoveling please take care and watch your back.

She could’ve tried to organize the notes at least, but this is comic Cathy we’re talking about. Ha.
