Some mornings at home, I’ll pour a cup for my sister, bring it to her, then go back for mine. She looks at me like I’ve sprouted wings & a halo! Is common niceness THAT unusual these days?
Customer service, huh? Guess that’s reality as times change. Maybe we’re all better off just staying home for coffee and food/drinks we used to buy out …
I once paid $6 for a cup of expresso. However, it was on the rooftop coffee bar above Nepenthe restaurant in Big Sur. It came with a $4 view for free. :)
I rarely encounter this situation as I don’t drink coffee and try to avoid fountain pop/soda. I will admit I paid 3 Euros for a 10 oz glass bottle of Coke. But that was from a stall in the middle of the Octoberfest grounds in Munich. Worth every penny.
Enjoy this find Sunday. Remember if you have a holiday tomorrow (like Ontario’s Civic Holiday) you can treat today like a second Saturday.

I have a simple solution to this problem. Just bring your own cup.

If you pay for 3.50 for a cup of Java you’re brain dead

And then you are expected to tip them.

At least staying home and doing it, you will have better coffee, better conversation and no chance of catching something nasty from the staff!

Since you tip for service, don’t tip for a cup.

This is why you go into a CVS or grocery today, try to ask an employee for help, and they look at you as if to say “Why is this person talking to me?”

If this was written today there would also be a screen where you could tip $1.00, $2.00, or $3.00 for pouring your own cup of coffee.
