she knows that those are alarming words….
Not being a golfer — what are puffers and tooters?
Learning from THE expert!!
Maybe Agnes is referring to woofers and tweeters. If so, she’s thinking about the wrong topic.
Probably not what Agnes has in mind, but it could be:
Down by the station
Early in the morning
See the little pufferbellies
All in a row.
See the engine driver
Pull the little lever.
“Puff-puff, Toot -toot”
Off they go.
She’s obviously talking about putters and toofers; a common mistake.
A new puffer can run upwards of 300 dollars. And don’t even get me started on tooters !
And if you get a satchel like Rodney Dangerfield had in Caddyshack, you will have to take out a 2nd mortgage
Puffers and tooters? Sounds like the stoners who live next to Agnes and Granny.
Agnes’s time would be better spent helping Grandma by drying the dishes.
Not to be confused with niblicks and mashies. (Is anyone alive today that knows what that is?)
The glass ceiling and Gramma, not something I would have guessed was at the top of her list…this week, anyway.
So that’s what my problem is. Here I just assumed it was age discrimination.
Sounds like Agnes has been hanging around Trout’s mom’s boyfriend too long
After a few rounds she may need a Puffer
The golfing community awaits tomorrow’s strip with bated breath.
Gram might not have the drive to golf. She prefers to putter around the house.
“puffer and tooter” sounds more like a description of grandpa…
