Black Friday has not been a good shopping day for many years now. It started as a merchant old-stock clearance day to make room for new stock for Christmas shoppers and it did not even have a name. Bargain hunters would go out the day after Thanksgiving and look for these deals.
Now it’s just a big marketing gimmick and there are no great clearance deals. The sales are no better than what you can find all year, so stay home and work on those leftovers.
I’m with Kenny… simpler things can be so fine :D The typical Black Friday deal now is the one where they jack up the price 75%, then mark it down to 50% so that the motivated shopper thinks they are getting the deal of the century. Same method applied to wedding and funeral investments. buyer beware has never been more poignant.
frankly, with the family being mostly adults, we don’t buy a bunch of presents for each other anymore. I’ll send something to the grand kid and a family friends kids. Heck, last year hardly anyone even sent out Christmas cards! I miss Christmas cards.
left overs… left overs….. I thought that I had forced it DOWN .. so let me loosen my belt and get some suspenders turkey day is one of my favOurites
Yeah, I remember when some of the smaller stores offered free cider and doughnuts to the earlybird shoppers on the day after Thanksgiving — as it was called then.
First question, if they are smart they won’t leave there home until it’s safe to do so. Next question, well they call them sales. Oh and Kenny, way to keep it simple.
