Just a little bit of pedagogic pedantry … Nobody puts kids in the corner anymore, mostly because they discovered that public humiliation, while possibly satisfying to the teacher, doesn’t actually improve behavior or performance. It just makes students hate school more.

When I was in the Navy, we would have FLASH quizzes. Five minutes to provide the answers AND the references down to the document page.
