I’m confused. I realize that traditionally the message would say “Greetings,” but for the message to be “very ugly,” shouldn’t it say “Season’s Greedings?”
There are 14 religious holidays and observances between Thanksgiving and the end of December. Paying respect to each of them, the Happy Holidays sweater is quite appropriate!
