Aww Ben, we all get that way during Christmas. It’s always good to have your furbaby with you. They bring you joy and positivity so give him a hug, they’re free.
The REALLY big question is why don’t we adopt their attitude? I’m not trying to be funny here. Our yellow Lab hauls me outside at 5:30, in the pitch dark, to throw the ball. I have a hard time not whining about lost sleep, and she’s oblivious to my mood.
I have no unreasonable expectations. I know I will be rearranging the furniture and doing the inside decorating for the holidays. I know we will wait until it freezing out and I will help him put the lights on the bushes in front of the house. I know I will be wrapping whatever gift(s) he bought himself and putting it under the tree late Christmas Eve. I know I will cooking dinner for us for Christmas Eve, Day and New Year’s.
I know that we will have assorted problems with going to the local restoration village with our reenactment unit to interpret the only house set in our period (village is set almost 100 years later) – including getting enough members our unit to show up each night. Iknow we will be there by 4pm in period dress for an event which starts 6pm. I know what questions the public will be asking “Anne” (my 18th century self) and what she will answer.
The only differences are if there is weather bad enough for the restoration to cancel any nights.

It is impossible to be overly mellow when you have a dog.
