I knew of an individual ( a now-long deceased relative ) who fled his city to the next biggest one where his cousin lived, and stayed in a tiny apartment connected to the main house by a secret door near the top of the stairs. He only left the place at night for a walk around the block. Every family has a mystery from the distant past … usually involving missing money.
