I miss non-spam calls because the doctors, insurance, etc. have so many different numbers.
I’ve worked lots of jobs in my life, but none was so soul-crushing as working as a telemarketer (cold-calling to sell theater ticket subscriptions).
I answer all Spam calls with “Je suis désolé, je ne comprends pas un mot de français. S’il vous plaît, expliquez-moi en anglais”
They immediately hang-up and never call again… I’m down to one call a month… Fewer by the year…
Courtesy Call Inc. is accepting $$ donations.
This doesn’t appear to be the best business model
I’ve started answering some of them. It can become quite profane on occasion.
A public service announcement which should automatically precede each spam call.
Tempted to change our incoming message to “Due to the terms of my parole, I am not allowed to speak to you”
Bad: Caller ID shows a number you don’t recognize. Worse: Caller ID shows “Unavailable”.
