Looking up the stats, The Born Loser was created some 58 years ago in 1965.
Which means Brutus is 58 years old so he has 4 more years of work to go. Brutus, now’s the time to ask for a raise so you can even stay retired at age 63!
Upside is that as long as you are working, you have an excuse to not be at home and being hounded by the wife and more imprtantly, the Ramona Hell Hound. AND you really do need sonething to occupy your retirement time. I work parttime in my teaching and it gives me something to look forward to each week and I still get Christmas and Summer vacations. Maybe you could write a book, your autobiography for instance. I think it would be a best seller……
Don’t tell Gargoyle. Mother’s advice to Gladys will be to get lots of life insurance on Brutus since it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Rancid will give him a heart attack well before they can share that one madcap year of fun.
Why would Brutus want give up his easy job for retirement at age 62. Had I had his job, I could’ve worked till 70. It was lucky for me, I and my mother had planned for my retirement years. Thanks to her preplanning, I could’ve retired at 58, but chose to work till age 63.

I’d say you never had enough funds to retire if you have to go back to work at any point.

Retirement is a scary step. Especially if you play the “what if” game, which I’m inclined to do.
