You’re getting older and your metabolism is changing. But I have little sympathy since men can lose weight far easier than women. If you just increased your exercise, maybe took a few walks a week you’d lose the extra weight.

You are what you eat, so don’t be a turkey.

Len, I was the same way growing up, but even then, I was never foolish enough to think I’d actually get away with it forever, and indeed, I cannot as well now. As such I was already in the habit of trying to eat a balanced diet and get what exercise I can (the fact I work in a hotel that keeps me moving most of the work day really helps) so to counteract when it finally caught up with me…you should’ve too.

Arlo could try skipping scheduled meals and having real food as snacks. Grazing has been my meal-plan since high school. I’m still small, but hollow. Long-time neighbors who have seen me at a buffet keep bringing food since my wife died over four years ago, so I just quit cooking and only fill the hollow on holidays.

If someone could breed a variety of celery that didn’t have the stringy fibers that are always getting stuck in my teeth, they’d make a fortune! Nonetheless, I like celery with peanut butter (the all-natural, sugar-free kind) as a snack or for breakfast about once a week.
