I know of a guy kinda like this. Call him, no answer, so I leave a message. Or text him, no reply. Next time I see him, I tell him I texted or left a message; his reply, “When?” He never checks his messages.
I never give out my cell phone number. I got tired of getting text messages, instead of calls. I would take my car in for service and say I don’t do texts, and sure enough, I would get a text. So, now, I only give out my home phone number and it cannot accept or do texts. If you want to contact me, you have to call.
Yeah, people forget that calling with the phone is still an option. They’re so reliant on…pretty much anything else but most especially texting…that they always seem to react with surprise when its suggested they try that instead.
I think it’s because writing a text to someone is less socially demanding that calling someone and directly talking with them. Which I get, but calling is still an important way of contacting people, and really should still be the first and foremost method above others.
I’m with Lisa. If your number is in my contacts list, you can cali me (if it isn’t, your call will be sent directly to voicemail). I hate texts and I do no social media.
