I feel your pain! Unless you can talk Dan into coming home and playing fetch, you have to just get up and do it ~ don’t suffer any longer than you have to. Good things cats are cuddly and loveable!
My cat Musette did save me from a home intruder when I was in grad school. I was just settling into bed when she screeched like she’d stepped on a red hot griddle, and I mean repeatedly. I jumped up and saw a man had removed a window screen and was halfway into the hallway outside my bedroom. I, too, screamed bloody murder and he ran away sooo fast. She weighed all of 5 pounds, soaking wet. And oddly enough, my call to the police ended up reuniting me with an old pal from college, who was the responding officer. Having a pal on the police force meant that the parties I threw for my fellow students were always safe from harassment (because I only threw them when Joe was off duty and could attend).
I recently had an accident moving a couch. I lost control of my end and made the mistake of catching it. It’s been 3 1/2 months. The small broken bone in my wrist is healing nicely. Unfortunately the soft tissue damage to my shoulders, hips and knees is persisting. Don’t move heavy furniture when you’re over 75. On the good side, the doctor gave me a cool metal reinforced brace that would serve nicely as an archery cuff. I’m considering taking up robbing from the rich and giving to the poor when I’m a little better.
I hope there really is something that can help your back! Unfortunately, being unconscious is pretty much the only thing that works for me. I mean, there are drugs that would probably help too, but my doctor probably would not prescribe them, and all the ones she has prescribed don’t help. [sad]

A really good purr and some cat snuggling is worth at least one ibuprofen.

I think Ric is just wondering if you’ll feed him before he has to eat you.

Nice thought, though the back pain has obviously made her delusional.

At least it’s down to two stars, unless two are lost in the cushions.

That’s the big difference between cats and dogs, cats just don’t care.

Cats have a stronger union. You never cross a feline picket line.

There are some hilariously funny stretches that always seemed to help me in a similar condition.
Admittedly I might ‘stretch’ the Poor Baby stage for a bit.
Just don’t get caught. Or let it go to your head before it leaves your back.
