Wow, that’s one hideous-looking face in the second panel. Though Slim’s face in the first panel isn’t much better. The eyes always look lifeless no matter what art style is being used (and it’s seriously weird how the style keeps changing panel-to-panel.)
I joined the strip about the time they got married.They’d chickened out once before, so theypaid a “quiet visit” to a Justice of The Peace; only to find the entire cast waiting in the office for them.
He never mentioned to her that he was spending hundreds of dollars on cheerleader outfits??? And why does his granddaughter sign her note to him “sweet thing”? If that is something that he normally callers her, they would have recognized it. The whole story makes little sense but that, unfortunately is a Scancarelli trademark. Never funny or interesting or clever.
