Loretta won’t appreciate it: Valentine’s Day was yesterday.

Many years ago, I snatched up a bouquet of roses from a vendor at Grand Central Station. It was a Mothers’ Day gift for my mom, and I was running hell-for-leather, as I had 1 minute to catch my train!

Well, when I finally got home and put them in water, they flopped over! Mom was furious—at the vendor!!

And he takes the bus even.

Yep, she won’t be able to tell … except for maybe the fact that, instead of smelling like roses, they smell like gasoline.

You never know what about gonna find at the gas station.

Flowers are flowers. What difference does it make where he got them?

Just remember to remove the free oil change coupon from the bouquet.

At least you are bringing roses home to Loretta

Maybe one can’t smell gas on flowers bought from a gas station mini mart, but Loretta will still be able to tell where they came from.

other than the lingering petrol stench…

They probably cost more at a gas station than at a florist. Couldn’t believe it cost me almost $12 for three small bottles of Pepsi.
