    Well, ackchually…Some California wineries are allowed to use the name “Champagne” even though they aren’t French wines from etc…. Because of a complicated loophole in the laws and treaties that limited said use. The story can be read here…Well, ackchually again… can’t put the link here, but google “California Champagne loophole” and you’ll find it.
