Time for me to replace the raggedy coir liners in my hanging baskets with new ones. If I shred the old ones a little with my hands and leave them on the potting bench, the nesting birds will continue to dismantle them and take pieces for their nests. Repurposing at its best.

At least you don’t have to look at their endless selfies in/at wherever. . .

You all appear to be the same species, so why didn’t you fly south with them?

We had a cermic bird bottle from Virginia (something common in 1700s there) and we had birds come every year (we always wondered if it was the same family) for decades and fill it with twigs etc to use. It was on the front of our garage. Spring 2022 we found it on the ground – it had been knocked during the winter and broke.

We have a second one which is on our shed in the backyard. It has never been used any birds and husband moved it to replace the other one. It sits slightly differently and apparently the birds do not like it. Husband is going to try to make some moderation to the garage to see if the bottle will hang better and attract them again.

We always think/pretend it is the same family of birds returning each year.
