Water helps prevent hangovers, which is why drinkers hate to have their drinks watered down. If these were the good old days, Eldo might have posted the legendary Don Martin toon in Mad Magazine about the interesting sound effects Andy made when he accidentally drank water….
I’ve never worked in any pub where they water-down the beer… it changes the entire aspect of the beer… colour, flavour etc… It’d be noticed by even the least discerning client…
Spillage is often added to a dark draught beer (wooden barrel)…
It’s impossible to add anything to keg beer… the stainless-steel barrel is pressurised…
I’ve known whiskey to be watered-down… far too often…
As a beer drinker…..but not a connoisseur….I consider any lite beer as watered down beer. I have never found a lite beer that I would buy. There have bee times when nothing else was available to drink, but my pride wasn’t strong enough to let me refuse to drink it. I guess I’m with Andy on this count.
Some years ago I vacationed for a few weeks in Ireland. And found that is some of the pubs the young people’s beer of choice was …. Budweiser!! Go Figure. I just enjoyed my Guinness and smiled to myself.

Either Jack’s watering down the brew or he’s secretly replaced it with an American brand (other than Henry Weinhard’s Private Reserve).

Well, Jack has a good barber. 10 hairs on each side. Wonder if his sideburns are level.

I don’t drink “Lite” beer. I drink 5.5% alcohol and up in my beer.

Andy, I think you just got cut off, and you’re running out of pubs to go to.
