I suppose that’s because the rest of the world has never warmed up to American “football”. I can understand; who can wear those uniforms, heavy helmets, and all that padding in hot climes??
Fun Fact – and an argument I used to try to convince recalcitrant Arizona and Texas red-neck High School Athletic Directors and School Boards why they should have soccer programs in high schools:
The cost of outfitting 1 player for American football is equal ( or greater ) than equipping an entire soccer team!
