Sunday football double! Sorry Andy, the whole world is changing!

The sport is called “soccer” in the US and “football” everywhere else.

I suppose that’s because the rest of the world has never warmed up to American “football”. I can understand; who can wear those uniforms, heavy helmets, and all that padding in hot climes??

American “football” is mostly throwing and carrying with the occasional foot action in dire straights time.

Most exciting thing about soccer, er football, is yelling at the. ref for making a call or missing a call..

We don’t refer to OAPs as “seniors” in the UK.

Fun Fact – and an argument I used to try to convince recalcitrant Arizona and Texas red-neck High School Athletic Directors and School Boards why they should have soccer programs in high schools:

The cost of outfitting 1 player for American football is equal ( or greater ) than equipping an entire soccer team!

I feel as if it were a jury trial instead of a spectator rally!
