Lets make a highly intelligent being with no conscience, instead of using the money to educate the young. There will not be one job for humans as why would you want to pay someone 75 thousand a year with benefits when for even 100 thousand dollars you can have an AI that could keep working for free non stop. They do not need breaks for lunch, cigarettes, or maternity. How will YOU make money? No one thinks down the road. Just a quarter of a century ago Computers did away with Libraries, post offices and toll takers.
Maybe someone can help me out here. I am totally confused about all this talk about AI in the news, when all it seems to involve is various forms of photo shop, which has been going on FOREVER. My best example is the movie “Forrest Gump”. They used real video clips to impose Forrest into several historical scenes, such as the White House with the Presidents. Isn’t THAT what they are talking about regarding AI? People! – It’s been done!
“Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.” Jurassic Park said by Ian Malcom, portrayed by Jeff Goldblum
“When l was young, things were more important. The pain more painful, the laughter much louder. Yeah. When l was young.” There are always problems in every generation. However, today, we have too many complex problems hitting us at the same time with little or no preparation time. Great observation but l also have no solution. We have at least identified the enemy and he is us…..
I’m waiting for AI to be applied to traffic controls. All these intersections have cameras these days. Why couldn’t AI use them to even out traffic flow?
Amen Brutus! Good thing Mother isn’t there because she would use the opportunity to advise Brutus to get some AI to make up for his lack of the real thing!

I’m not sure which is worse, artificial intelligence or natural ignorance.

AI is not intelligence, it’s just a data cruncher. Remember GIGO (garbage in garbage out)

I wish I could get hold of some Kool Aid sweetened with cyclamate so I could see if it’s as good as I remember.

So true, Brutus. But, I don’t worry about AI. But, to vitamin supplement or not to vitamin supplement, that is the question.
