We have wild turkeys in town. They strut with confidence and slowness when they cross the street. They are bigger than the Canadian geese that hang out by the river.

I’ve seen wild turkeys strutting up the hill across the road as if they own the whole 100 acre farm!

Not around here, too many hunters. The wild turkeys stay a good distance from anything that looks human.

We have wild turkeys who come through our neighborhood from time to time. If you’d ever seen their feet, you’d stay out of their way, too.

tasty, nearly all dark meat, Spring turkey season opens Saturday.

I see that the “strut with confidence” seminar paid off for them!

Perhaps 5 months after Thanksgiving hsa something to do with this

My dog scatters them when I let her go, they run and fly right off the cliff into the forest below, yes Turkeys can fly and pretty good also.

I made a comment on Breaking Cat News about the wildlife here. I tend to leave the wildlife alone.

I had a flock of 10 or some march down my driveway and into the woods. The next week I saw the toms courting the hens. They look pretty confident that nothing will mess with them.

Truth. My larger than life dogs are terrified of them, even when there is only one. All of my cats are superiour hunters. One in particular has no fear, has come home with fox cubs, chickens and other assorted notsotypicalofcats trophies. thought about taking down a turkey, watched, thought about it again, proceeded to stalk. When the turkey turned and saw him, my mastercat ran for home. Wouldn’t go outside for love nor money for at least a week after that.

I only see three wild turkeys, don’t they usually travel in fifths…?

It’s intimidating when the deer’s standing on the feeder.
