Daughter and I picked up a couple of lots of assorted China bric a brac today at Auction, and 4 Knoll 1970s dining chairs. The chairs I got for $78! And they are for me. I have no chairs aroutnd my kitchen table. Never saw any I liked, until I saw those. I love auction season. Now I have to take pictures of all of it and post-it.

A giant brown cow? Like Paul Bunyan’s big blue ox?

From yesterday’s comments, jessegooddoggy said“…. I just finished the last of The Cat Who books. I was sorry to see the author died in 2011 (at 92!) and that her last book was never published.”

I also read all of the “Cat Who…” books (I own all but about 3 or 4 of them). I loved her books, but was a bit disappointed in the final one that was published. It wasn’t quite on a par with the rest of them. (I’m thinking the final one was “The Cat Who Talked Turkey”. I know a lot of things were changing in that book). I had a hold placed on her last book at the library – the one that didn’t get published. I would have liked to read it. Weird how the library actually had her last book listed for people to place holds on when it still had not been published. I am keeping all the books so I can reread them some day. Next time, I’d like to read them in order. I read them in random order the first time I read them.

I believe this storybook is getting udderly ridiculous.

How now brown cow? I did a little research, and this might surprise you: ‘Brown cow’ is an 18th century description for a barrel of beer. The saying probably originated as a way of calling for another round of drinks.

Oh no, that poor cow! Hope she’s able to get out of the way or she’ll get turned into hamburger. (Flattened hamburger at that.) Too bad that pram doesn’t have brakes. On another note, saw a raven, five robins, four wrens, and two juncos while out walking today.
