Actually that is a better “punishment”.. he won’t be able to have linch with his girl friend… which is worse than having to stay after school a bit longer with some other kids serving time, than going home to an empty house, or his sister, or worse, their father!

In real life, when I went to school, in the later fifties, and high school in the sixties, there wasn’t such a thing as detention. In my kids’ days, there wasn’t a detention either. My grandchildren don’t have detention in their schools either…
