Way back in high school in the late 60s, I walked into Graphic Arts / Printing shop one day to find Mr. Mahusky taking apart one of our little printing presses. I asked him what was happening. He said:
“This is an exploratory operation . . the patient may die.”
(The patient lived, and I used that press for 3 years.)
