TV: Hollywood insiders believe that Winona Ryder's shoplifting arrest will not do permanent damage to the 31-year-old actress's career. Many producers say her career may even be bigger than before, noting that she's "a popular celebrity and wonderful actress..." "...Plus, she is white."

that was her final hour. She has faded from the national psyche now. Heathers was her best performance.

She did play Spock’s mother in Star Trek–a bit part, indeed, but I’m sure enough to put some coin in her purse given the success of the movie.

Actually, she’s been in 16 features since 2002, including one made-for-TV, and has two features in production for release within the next 18 months. I particularly enjoyed her in The Darwin Awards with Joe Fiennes, and she did exceptional work in A Scanner Darkly (based on the Phil Dick novel).

She’s getting older. America doesn’t like old women, especially old actresses because they try too hard to look like they’re still young and end up looking freaky. Not that I’m saying Ryder looks freaky.
Although, I think she gets off easy because she’s famous, not because she’s white. You have to look at how nonfamous people get treated more, McGruder.
Say, for example, I have two friends, one white, one black, both who smoke alot of weed and who sometimes transport said weed in their cars. My black friend knows to keep his weed in the trunk and follow all traffic rules. My white friend is smoking a spliff out the driver side window. I’m not going to make any general statements, but that’s how it is in my experience.
