Same with the gas bottles. Different place.

See, that’s why we got those nifty chemistry sets when we were kids back in the day. We didn’t have to ask our folks for explosives. And yes, we actually did blow up a few things.

A nod to Matt Groening and Home Simpson with the D’oh? I shudder to think why the kid wants some nitro.

Some of us need to keep nitroglycerin on hand for all the wrong reasons but it can be a life saver.

One shouldn’t automatically assume that the kid wants nitroglycerin for explosive purposes. It is also used, as pointed out by a commenter earlier, for angina pectoris.

It’s in the garage next to those 40 bags of ammonium nitrate.

I am surprised the kid can pronounce the word…….

Silly boy, we don’t keep nitroglycerin on hand! You have to do what I did when I was a kid, and make it from nitric acid and glycerin!

kid’s got heart problems??

Our middle son actually did something like this. He was about 8 or 9, and asked his father where we kept the concentrated nitric acid. We are still laughing. Somehow he managed to live long enough to be an adult. 38 and counting.

Under the sink, in a sealed container marked “talcum powder”.
