Oh dear, Walt is kind of misremembering Frank King here. It’s not like the Alley Cats were in the first motorized wagon train trip to the gold fields in Californy and ended up settling on the first mudhole one of them broke down in.

It’s another three-part classics update for the 27th, but I did get my project finished this evening:
Rick learns the old adage “You can lead a horse to pose for a portrait, but you can’t make him stand still.” Learns it the hard way.
Brenda takes Maryjane out to a real class joint, on her own dime for a change… will she notice the, er, “spectacular” lady wearing the Black Orchid?
Chipper considers a small makeover, if they sold glasses with clear lenses back in the early 70s. I hope he’s getting some decent pay out of this apprenticeship.
How can it have been an “alley”, when there was nothing around it? The way it is drawn here, it should have been “Gasoline Flats” or something similar.
This could be a way to bring Gasoline Alley to an end, and transition to rerunning it from the start. The flashbacks become longer, and we see progressively less of current Walt and this vice mayor.

Sorry, Walt—the Trumpian SOB is not impressed!
BTW, how did the residents of a certain town in New Mexico react when its name was changed to “Truth or Consequences”? Not well, I bet.
