My birdbath has crows and ravens interspersed with smaller birds, all looking for relief from our 40C heat. We also have a flock of wild peafowl we feed and one of them has this habit of standing in the water (it’s not big enough for a peahen) and the crows harass her by pulling on her tail feathers. Our 6 cats are generally chill and do not bother them mostly, though the youngest one does covet the sparrows!
I wonder if anyone has every gotten a shot of an owl using a birdbath? On a differing topic: it just occurred to me the other day that, with all the focus on the little red (and sometimes blue) birds, we have never seen them nesting and raising families. Or, for that matter, the squirrels. (I would love to see Son of Murphy.)

My birdbath could use a watch-owl.

It’s more likely to kill the little bird than watch it.
