We have had for decades a plastic trash can outside. Never a problem.
Recently we have started taking in on some Saturday nights from a local Italian food place. They give a package of garlic knots with the order. Husband kept forgetting to tell them not to as we just throw it out. To keep the garlic smell out of the house we would toss it in that plastic can outside – covered.
I went to throw something else in the outside can and I noticed that the edge of the cover had been gnawed. When husband came to check it out when I called him over – there were 3 gnawed spots all together. We now have a metal can with lid and he tries to remember to tell them not to give us garlic knots – or we refuse them there if we forget.

Sure, people love it when trash is strewn around. And garbage is not what wildlife should be eating. And, well, this isn’t funny.

We have lots of squirrels… I have never seen one raiding a garbage can.

I love the colorful RisR artwork. In today’s strip, even the garbage is beautiful!
